Lighting system (and tanks) for sale - cheap!

Hello!

Though I haven't been to a meeting in years (and only a handful of the folks in the club may still remember me), I wanted to post this here for awhile before I expand to Craigslist, etc. in hopes that someone in the club will be interested...

I recently switched to LEDs, and I'm getting rid of my current light set-up.

It is a 48" Coralife system - 2 x 250W MH and 2 x 96W actinic, 6 years old but still working fine. In addition, I have old-school mechanical timers for each light, as well as a complete set of unused replacement bulbs for the set-up (2 Hamilton 250W 14K MH bulbs, and two Hamilton 96W 420nm/460nm bulbs).

I haven't looked at current prices in awhile, but a set-up like this (esp. with the set of bulbs involved) would probably be $600-$800(?)... but I'm not hoping to get anything close to that! I mainly just want to see it out of my house and put to good use somewhere else - make me a non-insulting offer, and it's yours!! :-)

On a similar note, if you (or someone you know) is looking to get into the hobby, I have three tanks in the 50-90(75?) gallon range sitting in my storage area that I'd love to get rid on the same "easy" terms.

To be honest, they've been in storage for a few years now and I'm not sure exactly what their dimensions are, but if you're interested in getting into a mid-size tank for cheap, two of them have custom built stands and canopies (plus lighting), and one of them is just a plain old bowfront tank (no stand, etc.).

And, finally, as part of getting my current tank all cleaned up, I pulled a bunch of smaller live rocks and rubble from the tank - I've got two 5 gallon buckets 2/3 full of pieces that range from marble size up to small fist size - as well as few larger dead acro skeletons (if you like to use those for aquascaping). Would be happy to trade for frags and/or just give away for free if you're interested.

Reply here or send a PM if there's something you'd like to ask about!

Thanks!

I'm really just trying to basically give it (lights and/or tanks) to someone and maybe get a few bucks back out of it, so hopefully my clarification post will count as a "price"? (I appreciate the heads up though - I wasn't aware of the policy, so thanks... we'll see what happens!)

I could use a 90 gallon

I'm not sure how to private message so I'm posting my interest in the 90 gallon tank.

Fish_BowLisha (and anyone else who might be interested)... I'm not sure if any of the tanks go up to 90 gal, but here is what I have shared with a few people who have asked:

I don't have the exact dimensions (all are in a storage unit right now), here are my best guesses/recollections of each tank's dimensions...

1. the bowfront is a standalone unit that, if I remember correctly, has a built-in area "in back" for filtration, etc. I believe it is 4' wide (but might only be 3' ?), and I want to say it is either 48 gal or 54 gal (I never actually used the tank, it was given to me by a nursery school that had also received it as a "gift" but never used it - kinda big for a preschool :-) ).

2. the second tank is also a tank that I never used personally. It belonged to my sister-in-law before she gave it to me (I never set it up). It has a custom built stand and canopy, and I believe there is a lighting system of some sort already in place (2 x 175W MH maybe plus other fluorescents?). I'm not sure of the exact dimensions, but I want to say 48" x 15" x 18" or close to that? Obviously, I will be happy to track down the info for anyone who might be interested. It is a glass tank, and I'm pretty sure it has not been drilled (but again, I'll double check if/when I go to grab dimensions and pictures for folks who are interested).

3. The third tank is my first "big" tank that I bought on eBay. It is a custom built acrylic tank (the guy I bought it from built it himself), along with a pretty nice looking stand and canopy (also built by him). It has a siphon overflow, and I used a router to notch out part of the bracing system just a bit to accommodate a better overflow system after I bought it (the notching didn't affect "structural integrity"). The canopy is wired for 2 x 175W(maybe 250W? I forget) MH and two actinics. I have pictures somewhere on my computer showing the tank "in action" when it used to be set up in my house if folks would like to see it. If I remember correctly, total volume is 65 gal, with dimensions of 36" x 24" x 18" (20"?).

Thanks for the interest!
