Lighting time length

Just looking for a consensus. How long should I run my day light and actinic lights in my fish and coral reef tank a day?

Depends a lot on what your keeping and the lights your running. The actinics can be on round the clock almost. If your keeping low light softies the halides can be on for a few hours to many hours depending on your tank and wattage.

I tried to read your tank description but got lost with the 120k daylight description.

When I have my lunars on at night some of my fish are active. Now when everything is off and I turn the light on in the room were the tank is all the fish seem to be resting. My question is? Do you have that same thing going on and if so is it smart to run the lunars all the time depriving the fish from rest?

I used to run the lunars opposite of the actinics. When I woke up for work in the morning, all my fish were awake and swimming around like it was daytime. Those lunar bulbs were built into the hood and were pretty bright.
Since then I have a lunar simulator. The fish are asleep most of the night, as far as I could tell. This method is pretty cool and I am happy with it.

The lunar light I have are separate from lights. I have the current individual lights. Is there a simulator for current lights?
