lighting up grade to come in the near future

I just put two 250w MH with ice cap ballasts on my tank last week and it is very nice. Alot better than my previous 1 MH and 2 96w PCs. I used 10K ushio bulbs and 2-110w VHOs Super Actinic for the coral growth and colors.

my favorite all time is the 250 watt electronic ballast with radium 20k. I get decent growth and the bulb has a decent amount of white light in there as well. I don't even use actinics. I've tried all the XM's 10, 15, 20K, hamilton 14k and the Iwasaki 6500k and nothing has come close in my opinion

i was given a 175w iwasaki 15k that im trying out right now compared to the 250 watt bulbs and ballast combo's it delivers more par than a majority of the 250w bulbs it show results of 86 PPFD , it is a used bulb and it is making my xm 15k on the other side of the tank look like pc's , so far in the last couple days i see a very large diferance in the way my corals are acting, my hammer coral looks better than it ever has it is 5x fuller than its been since ive got it same with my torch , the sps are showing better PE and are looking a bit better also im going to give this bulb a try for the next couple weeks and if the corals are doing better im going to stick with the 175's its not as blue but more white in color , the fish even like that side of the tank better, so far im happy with the very short term results. this site is very helpfull in choseinga ballast/ bulb combo
