Hi,

I am planing to buy a JBJ Nano Cube 24 G.
I want to keep SPS, so I also want to buy a better lighting system.
To be honest, I don't want to install additional LED stripes under the hood (because it gets too warm and I am not an expert in that).

I want to remove the existing canopy and put a new LED on top of it.

I found this LED

What do you think? Is this lamp OK for SPS? Okay maybe it is from China. But what is you opinion, or do have an alternative for me which isn't that expensive?

I found this JBJ nano cube set 24g.
What do you think! It is a good price?!?!

Thank you,

I had a black over my 29 bio cube. It did work but wanted better controllability. For the price of that box why not spend a little more and get an AI prime . I just got one with the gooseneck and really starting to like it. The price for tank and stand is good.

Hi Wifi,

Thank you. I already thought about the AI prime, but with 50Watts. Isn't that too less power for SPS?
I thought about a 90watt light (like the big kessil; but this is one costs much more)

I have 2 aquariums in my mind:

1) The IM nuvo 10G with the ghost skimmer and the AI prime
2) The JBJ nano cube 24G and an unknown lighting (AI prime, Kassil 360 or the china LED)

What do you think?

Best wishes,

Dominic

I dont know your experience in this hobby but i would do the jbj. Idont know much about the skimmer just check to see if can fit into one of the back chambers. If you know it fits with regular water changes you should be fine. But im no expert so I hope others chime in. Also got the HD prime and it is definitely bright. From what I have read it should be good for both of your choices. Bigger is better.

Hi,

Thank you. I had saltwater aquariums since 2003. I am just temporally in the US. I am initially from Germany and will return in 4 years. So it shouldn't ne so big and expensive since I have to sell it anyway.

Of course, bigger is better, but I don't like the plastic canopy of the JBJ aquarium. I want to keep LPS and SPS, so I don't think that I will use the canopy and let the top open (this is also good for temperature control).

I really like the AI prime!!! Maybe it is worth to give it a try. When it is too dim, then I will add some more LED spots/ stripes.

But maybe, somebody other has a good advice for me?

Thank you,

Dominic
