Hi I am a beginner to saltwater, I have a 50 gallon tank slowly adding fish and corals, would 380watts be enough or too much light? What would be better in my canopy: pc, vho, or t-5 lighting? Thanks I want to keep corals that would be easy to maintain.

T5 lighting is supposed to be more efficient than the other choices you've mentioned, but I like the looks of VHO much better. If possible, taking a look in person at the alternatives might help a lot.

You could also consider metal halide setups. The wattage you mentioned is on the high side, and some animals would definitely like it. What do you want to keep?

I agree with Janathan. I prefer VHO and metal halides over anything else, but T5's are nice. Depends on what you want to keep and how much money you have. :)
