i have 350 watts of metal halides 20k on my 90
i also am running daylight vho bulbs (white) 4 of them.

well my lighting schedule is this
mhs come on at noon till 2:10 pm

my vhos come on at 2pm and run till 8pm

at 6 pm my mhs come back on till 10

so my metal halides are the first to come on and last to go off.

should i have my vhos on first then the metal halides or is the way i have it ok

which ever way works best for you as long as there is a day/night cycle.

I run my 15 gallon with the daylight on first (morning), then the MH (mid day), then daylight and actinic (late afternoon/early evening), then actinic(late evening) then off(night)

just wondering. i got my bulbs for my vho ballast at homedepot. 4 bulbs for 12 dollars. i went from 440 to 320 watts but i saved around 100 bucks worth of vho bulbs

I would leave the halides on longer myself. It would seem your tank is very white for the most part of the day, and very blue for the two hours before and after. Leaving the halides own would give you a nicer color I bet.
