I am looking for lighting for a 75 gallon tank i am setting up. Its a standard 4 ft. tank. I am wondering if I should get a 6 bulb tek or retro fit into a custom canopy that matches the custom stand. I think I would rather get a Tek or something similar but Im not sure. Not sure how good retro fits are. If anyone is selling a 48" fixture lemme know. Thanks

I would go with a 4 bulb tek. 6 might be too much.

I have a nova extreme fixture (mid range cheaper fixture) with legs that sits on the tank. Looking back I would have liked a custom build retro to match the stand. Looks cleaner in my opinion.

What do you plan on keeping in your tank? Sps and I would go with a 6 bulb.

I've got a retro t5 over my 30 and have been very pleased with it. If you don't care about moon lights or anything fancy, I think retro is the way to go.

I was thinking 6 bulb to keep my options open, as im not sure exactly what i will be keeping in the tank.

Thanks that is what I was thinking, it looks better in my opinion just wasnt sure if I can fit everything under the canopy and keep things open enought to work around

I would like a mixed tank with a few softies and LPS, maybe SPS also.
