What is the rule for lighting and clams.

I have 165 watts of pc lighting on my 20 gallon long what types of clams whould not just suvive but are there any that will thrive under 6 watts per gallon.

I kept maximas, derasa, squamosa under pc's, no luck with croceas though. I found that high calcium is just about as important as light though. So its not as easy as watts per gallon, but if everything else is good (tank perameters)
i'd say you are o.k. The derasa & squas are found in deeper water than the croceas and some maximas

watts per gallon is a very sketchy guideline, its really much more important to talk about the intensity of the light, and PCs are really lacking in that deppratment. dont let me discourage you though, i have heard of people who have kept croceas fine under pcs, and those who havent been able to do squamosas, so its really a tose upo and depends on the individual specimen though. for sure though, your going to want to put your clams up top, to maximize your chances. IMHO
