i have recently added a pajama(spotted) cardinal fish to the fuge area of my sump. my giant 3-stripe damsel, which i bought to help cycle my tank, kept him cornered all the time. so, i moved him to the safe haven of the fuge for now. would it be ok to keep my fuge lights on 24/7 having a fish in there? or would it be too much stress on the fish? curiou for your feedback.

It will stress a cardinal BIG TIME.

Cardinals tend to prefer dark areas anyhow.

I would, for the time being, switch the refugium to a reverse photoperiod.

Give the little fellow a break.

Your other option might be to put an inverted plastic flower pot in your fuge, and cut a small hole in it for him to hide in. Put a rock over any hole that is in the bottom (or, well, the "top" ) of the flower pot.

thanks. good idea. i have started the reverse photo period, but i just worried the chaeto needed more light than that. what i need is a bully fish that would show that damsel who is boss. i also have a peppermint shrimp i only see with a flashlight because the 3 stripe tries nipping at him. if i could catch the 3 stripe......
