im getting new lights for my 29 gal tank it is your typical AGA design so it is 30" long im on a budget whats a good fixture? Should I go with 2 65 watt pcs or 4 24 watt T5s?

Either will work. The T5 would cost a bit less to run. If the T5 setup had a good-quality reflector for each bulb, it'd allow keeping more light-demanding animals. For soft corals, the PC would be fine, in my experience.

there are a few fixtures im looking at theyre cheap, but im hoping one of them will work out The current T5 fixture w/ 4 24 watt bulbs, The current 2x 65 watt pc orbit or satellite, and the coralife aqualight 2x65 watt pc all are 30 inches any suggestions or experiences? wish i could run mh, but theyre too expensive to start and in the long run. I read that someone had added a 2x24 watt T5 current fixture next to a 2x65 watt pc fixture above the tank. any thoughts on this?

What do you plan to keep in the tank?

If i am not mistaken, your AGA is 30"x12"x18" (WxLxH) which is not too shallow. If you want to keep some corals that require good lighting, those might not be good enough.

i have the current dual satelite 2x65W on my 29... it's been ok, i'm keeping mostly mushrooms and a couple acans..
the new current sundial t5 fixture looks pretty awesome, i considered getting one to replace my pc's, but i just got new bulbs instead.
the other fixture i was looking at was the tek t5, but it's 24 inches long, and 12 inches wide, i thought it would look silly over the tank, and it's $$$ too...

good luck!
