Lights...how long for each?

The way my timer is set up per the instructions it's 10 MH, 12 flor, 12 lunar so my tank is never dark? Doesn't it need some dark time? Thanks

Most people run their MH for 8-10 hours. The actinics should come on 1 hour prior to the MHs and stay on 1 hour after the MHs go off. The lunars can stay on 24 hours a day. Think of it as it is on the ocean. The actinics coming on is the sun coming up. The MHs is the sun and the extra hours the actinics are on is the sun setting. The lunars are moonlight.
