Hey,
If you have no corals in tank, how long can you go lights out?

Also, If you have no corals, how much Blues do you need in your lighting?

Haha!

Could be a riddle. No. I am turning my tank into a fish only. I have been battling algae and was thinking of going lights out for a month or so, and then starting a Macro tank. My hope is that the macros will battle down the algae growth. I have a reef growing light, which I will keep, but I was thinking I could turn to a more warm white lighting plan.

I remember reading a thread from Sk8r from years ago and I have been turning mine out three days a month regularly. Seems to help. I've also reduced feeding to 3-4 times a week in small quantity. I currently have issues with bubble algae but seem to be winning the battle. Wondering if I can leave them off for 4-5 days every month with no harm to coral??
