lime green algae bloom

My tank is about 2 months old and probably still maturing with 1 month of livestock in it, this is my second setup and i came home from work today and there is much more lime green "dust" algea all over the glass then there has been so far. I was just wondering if this is a normal maturation for a tank because i vaguely remember it happening last time but im not sure. all of my parameters are in check and i feed very sparingly...also everything is healthy and vibrant.

the only thing i changed was i added a small power filter temporarily with a phosphate removal pad to remove any organics that might have been undetectable, could this have triggered the bloom?

i got the same thing right now, my tank is 11 weeks old, and i am finally seeing some coraline algea growth, very small... lol

The blooms of algae are common in new setups. Cut your feedings to a minimum, increase your skimming to it's maximum, and wait it out. The power filter may have been feeding garbage to your tank, but it's gone now so that can only improve.

Keep in mind that the phosphate sponge didn't remove all organics, just the phosphates, and you still have any other nutrients that were present.
