I would like to also mention that I have had the stuff in a glass over night and it cleared by morning. I vinigure tested it and all of it desolved. I also tested for coper and Phosphate.
All tests look positive.
It's used quite widely in many of Texas's reef clubs. Central Oklahoma Marine Aquarium Society uses it quite readily. I also use it and have yet to see any major problems. There have been two tanks that I know that have had "problems". One had a breakout of diatoms and one had a breakout of dinoflagellates. Eventually both tanks subsided and are operating nominally. Essentially it breaks down to considering it a less than pure source of aragonite sand, but it works just as good with the same buffering abilities (if that's something that you go for). Here is a small list of some threads in the COMAS forum that talks about Pulverized Limestone or of tanks that are using it.
