I have a Linckia starfish that isn't looking to healthy. What would make him this way. everything else in the tank (fish and cora) is looking great except for it.

Never had any luck with starfish that weren't brittle stars or the fat coral eating chocolate chip stars. Hope you figure out what it is...my initial reaction would be a lack of suitable food. Obviously that would depend on how long you've had him.

Beutiful starfish, but same here... Limited luch with them. They start off fine for me and within a few months, either lack of food or somethingels gets them.

Yeah I agree with cloaker which is why i was asking the age of the tank. The other well known killer is parasites

I have had it about two weeks. tank has been up and running a about three - four months. The end of his legs are melting. not sure what is up. It is always something. don't they just eat what is in the tank?

with those stats, he most likely ran out of food. Try using a small marine pellet that is good for inverts. That's my two cents worth on the starfish. My third cent would be bristle worms, maybe if your starfish is sluggish and dieing the bristle worms are snacking on him at night.

linckia's are very finicky. the slightest change in any parameter will cause them to die. but more than likely like everyone has said already it ran out of food.

the one thing that puzzles me is that he only stays in one corner so if he would move around I'm sure there is other food for him.
