Lineatus Wrasse

Hey Everyone,

A little over 2 weeks ago I received the wonderful belated xmas gift of a lineatus wrasse and I have a few questions.

1. Does anyone have any particular advice for this fish (I've read all the general info, but I figured some first hand knowledge might be benefitial)

2. Right now it is a juvenile (only 2 inches) and it is mainly pink with purple stripes and orange fins... From what I have read it looks like a girl, but might it just not be mature yet? Do wrasses change sexes like clownfish can? And if so, is there any way of "encouraging" it to become a male? (not that I don't think the female is adorable too)

3. Can anyone post any pics if you have one? :)

Oh and just fyi, it's eating very well and almost ready to hop out of the quarantene and into the display!

Thanks for any advice!

Nilla

No different keeping advice for that fairy over any others.

All Fairy Wrass start out as Female and the most dominant female will change to male in the absence of any other males.

there is very good info about how to keep these fish on the "fairy wrasse photo diary" thread that is stickied to the top of this forum.

I've got a male (not a "super") and a subadult. They eat pretty much....anything.
