Little guy finally came out to say hi!

Well it took him about five days to finally come out and say hi. I don't guess I really blame him though. I put him in his new tank on Wednesday (took rock, sand and water from my main tank). I had to go out of town on Thursday so I left my wife in charge. When I got home on Sunday I noticed the water was a little cold. It was 64! First thing I did was a small water change with water from my main tank to bring the temp up a little. Then I went and bought him a new heater and very, very slowly started raising the temp. Over about 12 hours I had his water up to 76. I was so happy when I heard clicks.

The tank is now 78 degrees.

Anyway, here is a couple pics of when he first came out. Sorry the tank is a little dirty at the bottom.

Here is a pic of his home. It was a little cloudy when I took this. I had just added some more sand.

Here are a couple of close ups of him from when I first got him. He lived in my sump for a few days until I was able to get his tank up and running.

Anyway, what ya think of the little guy?

I have given him a couple but haven't been able to see him in action. He does love frozen eel though. He grabs it as soon as I put it outside of his hole.

About how long does it generally take for them to be comfortable enough to come out more often? So far mine has only come out for an extended period of time once. :(

Well he is on my computer desk so I am in front of the tank quite a bit. I'm sure he will be comfortable one of these days. Right now I think he is busy customizing his rock.
