Picked this guy up a few weeks ago. Love it!

Question though... Would you guys put the plug on top of a rock or will it create its own skeleton and grow off of the plug?

The do really well encrusting over rocks. You could glue to your main rock work or glue to a rock and isolate it on your sandbed if you want it separeted.

Very funny you said that. I used to have the exact same coral (traded it a while back) and when I bought it I told the LFS to give me the Virginia Tech coral .

Mine grows it's own skeleton, but also encrusts pretty fast.
