Little white bugs in my tank!? What is this, good or bad?

Well today i was looking for aptasia and what not and on closer examination of my rock I see VERY TINY WHITE BUGS. They are all over my rock all over my glass everything. If I had to describe them in size and color I would say hair lice. My tank is fairly new and just set up.

Help me identify! Thanks!

Do they look like small snails? My tank gets small white snails.

I have noticed this within my own tank within the last couple weeks and have came to the conclusion of them being the larvae of bristle worms. Only an assumption. For every one worm you see, there is probably one hundred you do not see.

Odds are very good that they are "pods", which is good.

The first picture if from my 30 cube, the sandbed is covered in them when the lights are out, and some are out and about during the day.

The second shot was from my 75, that is what happens when you don't clean the front glass for weeks --- it was covered in them.

I had the same thing going. As soon as I put a few chromis and a 6 line, they got in check

hmm. I really dont think they are pods. Pods are much bigger and not white. these are veryyy tiny. you have to almost unfocus your eyes to see them. Pods from my experience arnt out when the light is on but these guys are everywhere all the time

Actually, I'm about 90% sure that I was the first person to use it on here. I guess it really vexes me when people make posts about topics that can be resolved with a 2-second Google search. Google FIRST! Post SECOND!

I used to try and be helpful, but you have to draw the line somewhere. There's a line between legitimately needing help with an issue and just being lazy.

I apologize to the OP, and anyone else who might have taken it the wrong way. I just needed something to keep things interesting... :lol:

Yes, I would, but obviously you don't take kindly to "curt" posts so maybe I should just make sure you're not participating in the thread first. As much as I would love to continue this pointless conversation, I would rather not waste my time discussing a moot subject.

"New to the Hobby" does not mean, "Permission to Not Check Google First." Sure, sure, this is supposed to be "a place of learning," but I doubt a professor would take kindly to a student coming into a classroom without having any knowledge of the basic textbook resources already available to him (i.e. Google, the sticky at the top of this forum, etc.).

xJake you are quite funny indeed. And infact, I did check google first and 90 percent of the information was FRESHWATER white bugs. This is obviously not freshwater, this is saltwater. Most answers recieved from google on saltwater came up C-PODS or A-PODS. Well in my opinion I dont think these are pods. They are WHITE and VERY tiny. They are smaller than a dot made by a pencil on a piece of paper.

Yes the little whit bugs are pods. Pods are super tiny whitish bugs that are great food for ur fish. Hth
