live aboard reccomendations

I'm looking for recommendations on live aboards.

I've been on Blackbeards two times in as many years. Although I don't mind the "camping on a boat" atmosphere, nice recommendations would be a welcome change.

I would be curious to know about other dive operations that operate in warm/tropical waters. My interest is more in observing wildlife as opposed to diving wreaks. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

i just did a live abourd on the dive musgrave out of bunderburg aus nice diving lots of wild life to see lots of fish and they are the only dive boat i saw down their

Several years ago I dove with Scuba Tours in the Maldives. They are an operation out of the UK (scubascuba.com....I think) running a couple of liveaboards in the Maldives. Great operation, well run trips, wonderful place to dive. It's on my list to go back.

One thing with a trip to Palau is about a 25 hour + plane trip from the east coast
But it is America so I dont think ya need a passport
Depends if continental flies to Japan to Guam or Hawaii to Guam

Where would you like to go?

Fiji or Tonga - Naia hands down
Thailand - Ocean Rover
Australia (GBR) - Nimrod / Mike Ball /Undersea Explorer
Indonesia - Adventure H2O / Karuru / Agressor

A great liveaboard & dive resort resource is undercurrent.org.

I did the Mike Ball Coral Sea trip July 06. Great diving (although the weather kept us from getting to the coral sea. Stayed in the GBR). Incredible quantity of life. Great variety of hard corals and softs as well. The reefs were very healthy. I highly recommend it.

Mike Ball's operation is incredible as well. Great staff and service. You are not roughing it by any means. The food those 4 days was the best we had in the 3 weeks we were in Australia.

I am toying with the idea of doing another trip this september/october as I will possibly be in Australia for work. I may try Spirit of Freedom. Have heard good things and you pick up an extra half day of diving on their coral sea trip, I believe.
