Live Rock for BC8 - How much and where to purchase

My Biocube 8 is on the way, as are most of the supplies. Should be here this Friday :D

My question: How much Live Rock are y'all putting in these tanks, and who do you use for a supplier?

I'm in the Seattle area, and the LFS price is $8 or more per pound, and much of it is just ugly huge chunks.

I was looking at the nano rock package at liveaquaria.com, and thought that might me a decent source, but is 16 lbs overkill?

I'll have a 5 gallon tank that I'm bringing back to life as a quarantine tank, so I will have some room for extra sand/rock.

I'm open to any suggestions.

Thanks -- Brian

I dont like very much rock in my tank, but some people do.. its really your call but if its a small tank you prob shouldnt put more than twice the gallons.. I wouldnt put that much rock in mine.. but thats me.

average is 1lbs to 1.5 lbs per gallon or as angelsj247 said personal preference, the nano rock is rather nice or you could buy live rock for a lfs and break it up to smaller pieces

I haved the BC8 and I am only using about 4 pounds of rock. The tank is so small that if you fill it with rock, you will have room for little else. When I was picking out the rock, it ended up weighing alot less than I thought it would, so I ended up with 3 really nice pieces of Tonga Branch and that was all I needed.
