I am trying to buy some live rock for my 29 gallon biocube and i was wondering if anyone will be bringing some to the september meeting for sale. im looking to add about 15 lbs but anything will help.

Craigslist is the way to go! Why pay 8-12 a pound at local stores when someone on craigslist who wants to tear down his tank will sell it for like 2-3 a pound?

Check craigslist! Also thizzelle do you plan on coming to the meeting?

Unfortunately the person with the live rock had already torn down the tank and the rock was in buckets without water.

I would rather pay the price at an lfs for real live rock.

All you do is cycle the rock again or if you have rock that is cycled, put it with that rock. THe bacteria can repopulate quickly.

john at yourreef in roseville has LR for 4.00 a lb.including shipping. its decent stuff.not alot of HH or crap and nearly no cycle.

Anyone ever go to Danios Flea Market in Roseville? THere is a reef store inside of Danios and I bought live rock from the rock a while back for $2.75 a LB!!! WOWZERS!!

The rock looked great and had great colors. I put the rock in my tank and a few days later started adding sps (this was when I had my sps tank).

I think the guy might have increased his prices but I wouldn't be surprised if it was like $3-4 a lb. He also sells corals but I have not been there for over a year and don't know the corals he has but I expect his corals to be cheap.
