Live rock has bubble algae infestation.

I bought my tank used as well as the live rock. I tried to scrub off most of the bubble algae, and I thought I did. I have put my live rock in my tank, and turned on the lights as well as powerheads. You can still see a massive amount of bubble algae infestation. It's out of control. It's everywhere. I'm even thinking about just getting new live rock all together. How do I clean this mess?

I don't know, but I think I remember reading about a tang that eats bubble algae. I might be completely wrong though. It is 3:12am, my time.

Foxface spring to mind.
Do you think one will take are of the infestation?

It's not just a couple here and there.

I had a Foxface that cleaned house. I got an Ich infestation and I lost my foxface. I have just introduced another, after a 7 week no fish in tank period, and I am hoping for the same results. My bubble algae is long and not the round ball type. I have also heard that emerald crabs eat it but mine does not. I also pull mine out during water changes and have my drain line sucking them up as I pull them.

yes, i second the emerald crab saying, here is an excerpt from live aquarias website:

The hardy Emerald Mithrax Crab, also known as Emerald Crab or Emerald Mythrax Crab, has a shiny green, flat, compact body and hairy legs.

It requires a mature aquarium with plenty of rock work and hiding places. The Emerald Mithrax Crab eats algae and various types of meaty items it can scavenge. It can be harmful to small fish, but unlike many other animals, it will eat bubble algae and is useful for cleaning tanks of this potential problem. They are an opportunistic feeder, and if food is not available to them, they may turn to supplementing their diet with corals or invertebrates.
