Live rock or aqua-tecture

So I need to switch out my rock because its no bueno. I am thinking of ordering a custom piece from aqua tecture but at the same time I was thinking just switching out the live rock. So my question is what would you go with. Also should I remove the rock slowly over a couple days or just do it all at once. Mind you this is going to be a sps dominated tank.

I would take a little out and replace it wait a week and do it again. Its a gamble no matter what with a lot of potential for problems depending on the rock you go with. Which rock are you going with? A big trash can for moving and curing would be a good investment.

I really like my aqua-tecture "comma" it took like 6 weeks before I received it from when I put my order in. "comma" it was a custom order. You would have to seed it with some cured rock. But they claim due to the high surface area you only need half the weight vs recommended LR.

I would put new rock in trash can with a powerhead, a little current rock and a light. If took all your rock out and replaced it you will have problems.

Well the issue is the rock I have I don't think it was the best quality. I don't want taint the new rock with what's in the now. I was planning on getting rock from fishy biz if that's what the majority of people say. If not would wait for the special order.

I might be kinda ok....I just bout a new 12g Lps tank from fishy biz and I have only like 4 pieces of sps so might be able to sneak em over for a couple days while thing settle down or I can find a qt tank or fish and corals and do it that way

Now that I am looking at it I think its just the left side that looks like crap (slime algae of some sort) No matter how many water changes that rock just looks ugly. Anyway I was told when I got the rock there were vermited snails on some of the rock so that may be the problem that I can't see. Should I just ditch the whole left side or get rid off it all just to be safe? BTW the other rocks look fine with no slime coming from them.

It's brown. The weird thing is no other rock has it on it. Have had issues since I got it and all coral and parameter are good

So I just took about 5lbs of rock out of my tank and did a 2.5 water change. There was something evil on that rock I tell ya no matter how much I cleaned it and did water changes this brown slimy web kept appearing which leads me to believe vermitid snail??? wither way I am crossing my finger I did not throw things that far out of wack. I am going to do another water change in the morning and transfer over a couple more of my lps to the new tank and possibly stop by Fishy Biz for some new rock, although I may wait to replace what I took out. Any thoughts?
