Live Rock Phosphate question

So I have some live rock from breaking down a tank that I would like to add to my current tank but I tested the water and it has a slight amount of phosphates in it. My question is can I just dip the rocks in RO water to make sure that no phosphates leeched into my tank? Or should I just let the phosphates run their course? Attach my GFO reactor to it? Thanks for all the help

Recently bought some dry rock from BRS, it had a ton of phosphates. If you do a search on here about the BRS Pukani rock and phosphates, you should see the threads, i think it'd be applicable to what you're dealing with. Basically, age the rock in salt water and use lanthanum chloride to precipitate the phosphates out to remove them from the water. Then wash the rock to remove the precipitate. I doubt rinsing with RO would remove any appreciable amount.

It literally took two months of weekly water changes and LC dosing the make 50# of pukani rock manageable at .05 ppm PO4. GFO took care of the final PO4 belching over the next few month. Great rock though!
