Live Rock Question

Let me start off with the customer service was excellent. I ordered 45 lbs. of Premium Fiji live rock last week ($80 special). I spent the extra $$ and had it shipped overnight.

I am somewhat disappointed with the quality of the Premium Fiji. I understand that due to special you are running, that you had and increase in orders.

The majority 60-70% of the order was fine; the remaining 30-40% has very little coralline coverage. One rock looks like a river rock with a couple of quarter sized spots of coralline. Many of the rock had quite a bit of mud and gunk jammed in the pores. It just seems that the normal amount of care was not given to my order.

I picked LiveAquaria mainly on reputation and was enticed by the promo. The only suggestion that I might offer, is that when you are running a special and you have a large volume of orders that you work harder to maintain your good reputation.

I will continue to shop at LiveAquaria, I believe your reputation for customer service and the quality of your products are usually excellent.

the last fish i ordered wanst del. until 6 days after the order. they said it had to be treated for ick (Hiwaiian Tang) i told them to cancel the order. they shiped it anyway but they did drop the shipping, saved about $30.00 REEF-ON!!!

LiveAquaria took care of this. It is always easy to come in and talk about a bad experience, I however wanted to thank the people a Doctors Foster & Smith for their excellent customer service. They refunded my shipping on the order. Thanks for making this right!

I am much more willing to work with online vendors that you can trust.

Thank again.

I am not writing just because it is easy to complain when things don't work out. The problem here is that I have already spent more than 3 weeks curing some rock recently purchased for a tank I am hoping to survive a long time. I guess I will have to buy new rock elsewhere as most of what I received is just not up to par. I also received some uncured Carribean Live Rock recently on a special that looked nothing like the pictures that were posted. It is orangish gold like it came out of a river like previously posted.with absolutely no life to it. All of the bugs were dead, no worms, no sign of life anywhere. No corraline algae anywhere to be found on this rock. It also was supposed to be nano size and I recevied two pieces that were at least 8" long. I don't know how corraline algae will ever grow unless I put some other rock with it. It is good for raising othe rocks but for nothing else. I was pretty disappointed. I will not recommend Carribean live rock to anyone. I am not sure about the reputation people are claiming. Maybe some decent live rock got out there, but certainly not what I ordered. Two of the rocks I will not even be using. I don't know what to do with it except to throw it out.

If you click the link you can see what I am taking about. The slightly green colored rock is actually Lalo rock purchased from Etropicals(affiliated). this rock was a little better, a little corraline algae, not much though, bugs dead, a bunch of spongesbut no other life at all. It is gonna take forever to grow corraline in this tank without some other rock purchased. I am definitely swappign out the majority of this rock. Anyone need some...

I dont think there is any reason to throw out rock because it doesnt have coralline! You are true, it is pretty poor rock if it is labelled as Fiji premium, but it will still work and function.

Live Aquaria worked with me on this purchase and refunded the majority of the rock. Thanks Live Aquaria for workign with your customers. I am sure this is not representative of what is delivered regularly. A few pieces have turned out to be pretty nice. Price was a sale price so I understnad. Its just that I was stocking the entire tank with this. If I was doing a 100G tank the rock would be great for creatign the base.
