i have 15 lbs of live rock (he bought 2 yrs ago as cured) coming from a freind thats getting out of the hobby. its being sent wet vis usps. do i need to re cure this rock? and if so how and for how long

Would be best to recure it. There will always be die off in shipping. Even if wrapped in wet paper.
Cure in a Tub w/ same SG, powerhead and heater for IMO a week or more.
If its really bad "Has aweful odor" test the water and do water changes till it has completed its cycle. Then add to display.
