Live Rock question

Hey guys, I am once again new i had a 55 saltwater fowlr a couple years ago and now my 55 has some pacu and some silver tip sharks in it so i went today and got a 29 gallon set up got the heater filter and everything and bought the cycle stuff and salt/live sand all that.

My question is when i go to get my LR I was looking at the tampa bay live rock web site and was wondering if I buy some from him do I have to cure it in anyway or can i just put it in the tank? Keep in mind that would be the only thing in my tank so if i put that stuff in there by itself get all the bad guys out of the tank and then move on to getting the rest of my good critters such as stars/crabs and that stuff would that be ok??

anyone help me out with this? I tried to look on the site to find out if I had to cure it or whatever and I didnt see on there and the guy that runs it is out of town until the end of june so i cannot ask him

Wow this must be a record, you waited a whole 18 minutes for a reply before bumping the thread

The rock will have some die off so don't expect to toss it in the tank and then start adding fish/corals.

haha sorry just really excited and impatient wanted to try and go ahead and get my plan down and get to ordering something here in the next day or two....yeah i figured if i put that rock in the tank let the die off happen and find the bad stuff, if i get any. Let it run for 2 or 3 weeks and then maybe get the clean up crew going I would be ok but just wanted to make sure before I did that.

Yes you can cure your rock in the tank just make sure your tank is finished cycling before you add any livestock.
