live rock question

I have had my 72 gallon running with about 75 lbs of live rock in it and i decided i wanted to add some more. I happened to find a deal with another tank and a bunch or rock came with it. The only thing is the rock has been out of water for about a year. It used to be live fiji rock. Now since its been out of water for so long can i just rinse it off and add it to the tank without curing it. I figure there will be no die off cuz theres nothing left on it and it will eventually become live rock again with time. My original live rock came from a well established tank of four years so i just added it to the tank and i never had any problems. The tank is full of fish so i dont want to harm them.

yeah go head and clean it all off and put it in the tank space it out a little tho add a few lbs every week you can add it at once if u wish

There is likely to still be some old dead and dried up stuff in it. I'd suggest setting up in a barrel of SW with a powerhead or airstone for a bit to cycle it.

Definately agree with bill. Put it in a large tub with a powerhead or two and heater for a little while then add it. Better safe than sorry.
