live rock ?

I am bored and i want to re aquascape my tank. Can you break/crush live rock? I have too many large pieces and want to make a bunch of small ones. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I may have about 40 or 50 LBS of LR to get rid of if anyone is interested? $3 a LB, PM me so i can get an idea if anyone needs any.

I don't see why not. It's probably a pretty common occurance on the natural reefs.

Yea of course. Might kill some bacti but prob not much. I had to break some for the same reason. (alot were to big.) I took an old knife and hit it in the same spot across middle to split it. LR is very soft and will break very easy. If you hit it with a hammer or blunt object you run the risk of shattering the rock. So be careful . Use something like a big knife that will not spread the force of impact.

Yeah just gotta be careful with breaking it up... might end up with more pieces than you want...

CHislel and a hammer will do the trick. But the resulting sizes and shapes are never too predictable.

Yeah, I just hit mine with a hammer, but they are correct in saying you don't know what you'll end up with.
