Live Rock

I just recently moved tanks, I have about 150 pounds or so of live rock in a holding bin( curently 24 hours) which was exposed to the cold during the move for about 3 hours. I have water circulaton, a heater with established saltwater, alot of Cheato(couldnt put it anywhere else) and T-5's over the top of it. The rock smells so im assuming there was alot of die-off although theres alot of life moving around in there( worms, pods etc, etc)

Whats my next step with this? should i do a water change? When is it safe to put in the tank/refugium?

Thanks alot,

it was in a tub dry for three hours with only a wet towel over all of it,similiar to how they ship it.It immediatly had established 76 degree water in the tub with air, light, powerheads and cheato in there. Theres quite a bit of life in the tub but it does smell a bit, much like the ocean. Shoul di just test for nitrates and nitrites and see where it is at?

Normally 3 to 4 weeks with weekly 25% water changes will do it but your nose will tell you if its too soon.Should not stink at all when ready
