live rock

I had a SW tank about 10 years ago that had a live rock which had flowers that would come out of it. If you tapped on it the rock would suck them back into itself. quit having that tank 2 years later. Since I started my new one, I have been looking for a liverock that did the same thing as the previous one, but all I am finding is fiji liverock that seems to have no flowers of anytype. Obviously I had a different type of rock before but I was hoping someone could tell me what type and where I might find another. Thanx

yup. feather dusters are actually a worm that creates a tube around itself out of sand and mucous. Some rock has a lot, some doesn't. You can buy feather dusters of a larger size for not much - 11-18 bucks. I don't know how long you have had your current tank, but if it hasn't been that long, you don't yet know what life might creep up on your rock. I had a lot of dusters on my florida rock, almost none on the current batch.

I have feather dusters now that are in tubes and not the rock, Is it possible they will reproduce into the rock? I remember that the flowers I had before looked like actual flowers. My dusters look like actual dusters unless there are different looks to them.

those "flowers" could also have been aiptasia (!!@@##) , a common nuisdance anemone that can take over your tank. I was able to get rid of mine with a hypodermic (no needle) of very hot water into their center.
