Is there any chance you will be getting in different kinds of live rock like the Kaelin? Also how does the Bali ALOR compare density wise to the fiji?

Hi Sheila,

Unfortunately the Kaelini rock was shut down since it was a Tonga product. Hopefully this will change in the near future though as the rock was very nice.

The Bali Alor is the most porous, light weight rock that we have right now. Alor is much lighter than Fiji, and comes in some fairly nice shapes and sizes.

Would you be able to estimate how much a football or basketball size piece would weight?

Sorry for the late response on this, it fell down a few threads and I forgot all about it.

In all honesty it varies quite a bit. For a football size to basketball size piece you could be anywhere from 7-8lbs all the way up to 16 -18lbs just depending on the density of that particular piece. Of course the Bali Alor and Indonesian Premium rocks are going to be a little lighter weight than the Fiji.

Basically a football size rock of Alor is going to weigh less than a football size of Fiji. So getting a 40lb box or Alor is going to get you more "volume" of rock than a40lb box of fiji, correct?

You are exactly right! Even though on paper the price difference looks like quite a bit, you get more volume per lb with the more expensive rocks, thus offsetting the difference in price.
