Live rotifers in Pittsburgh

Hi folks,

Do you know where I can get live rotifers in Pittsburgh? I bought some from Oddball but it was very diluted...that I could count how many of them in the bag. I started culturing for 3 days already but did not notice any growth.

What are rotifers used for? I'm assuming food for coral?

I saw online you could order rotifer cysts to hatch out, (just like bb). That might be the way to go. I raised clown fry once and keeping a rotifer culture from crashing alluded me. I did raise 7 to be juveniles and I' ve kept one, (he's about 6-7 years old).

Mine grew also but they can crash in a day. It was very frustrating. The culture would look good today be gone tomorrow. I hope you have better luck than I did.

I was reading about culturing pods a while back and had seen some mentions of people culturing pods and rotifers in the same vessel to aid with stability.

I'm not sure how true it is, or even why it would work, but some swear by it.
