When I set up my first tank 3+ yrs ago, I bought bags of live sand and when I dumped them in the tank a flounder swam out of one. At the time it didn't strike me as that unusual, but looking back I find it's crazy that the thing survived. He lived in my tank and ate from my hand robustly for about eight months, when he then mysteriously vanished (died). Has anybody ever heard of a similar experience?
