Live sand making bubbles

Hi,
I have a stock 12g NanoCube DX with about an 1" to 1 1/2" of live sand and about 10 lbs of live rock. It is 1 month old and has completed cycling. It is stocked with an anemone, 2 clownfish, 1 blue-green chromis, a cleaner shrimp, a few hermit crabs, and a few assorted snails. I've just recently noticed tiny bubbles forming in the sand. Is this just bacteria turning nitrates into nitrogen gas or is something else going on here?
Thank you for your input

1 month old and an Anemone... Good luck!
Because that was helpful....people like you make this forum really hard to stick around. Keep your negativity to yourself if you have nothing benificial to say don't say anything.....yes I agree having an anenome in thus small of a tank isn't such a great idea but your comment had no input on the OP'S issues.

OP yes it's most likely nitrogen gas from bacteria. You will need to frag that anenome quite a bit to keep it Nano reef safe. They can get quite large. Is it a bubble tip?

^^ agree with grimreaperz, that comment about good luck was totally unhelpful.

OP, it sounds like you have a very new tank stocked up with critters. A lot of people go way too fast adding things so don't feel bad, take it as a learning experience. There could be a lot of problems causing the bubbles. If they are bubbles mixed in with algae it's most likely an overabundance of nutrients causing either cyano, diatoms, dinos, or some combo. It takes new tanks months to really settle in. The anemone probably will not do well as this settling in period occurs. What kind of nem is it?

Keep up with your water changes and that will help with the nutrients. 3 fish in a 12 gallon is going to predispose you to algae, IMHO. Do you have a skimmer?

get some phosphate rx and a good protien skimmer to protect from algae attacks. athe anemone should really only go in after a year or so, but if you're persistent, it just might work.

(the only anemones i've had that early were aptasia ;)

I forgot to mention that I got the anemone from a friend who could no longer care for it. I know that 1-month is super early for an anemone but I couldn't pass it up as it was free. It seems to be doing well in my aquarium and eating anything I give it.

Sorry the picture isn't great. I'm viewing it from work using VNC to keep an eye on it. ;)
