LiveAquaria Order

Hey just another shout out to LA on a shipment I received a few weeks ago. My pest-free angel is already on flake, the "small" maiden's hair was way bigger than expected w/a few welcome hitchhikers aboard and I only expected a few mushrooms on the 'shroom rock I ordered. What I received was practically a farm!! The Tongan nassies were of good size, as well.

One observation I wanted to make: Although I picked this up around 9am at a FedEx location (full-service, just FedEx, close to the airport), and it was shipped from the Los Angeles area, the box was warm. The 2 small chill packs were lukewarm and there was only a handful of styofoam peanuts in the box. I think if I'd opted for Standard or Priority Overnight home delivery the box would've been too hot. I'll do future live orders when it cools off - if that ever happens - we're supposed to have only 10 days on avg of +110F temps, I think we're at 31 now:(

I wouldn't have normally ordered in this heat, but my DSB needed the snails and I can't find them locally (just a couple here or there - and your price was screamin' great). I also figured if shipped overnight and picked up first thing at the facility there wouldn't be a heat issue.

Anyway, the livestock is great and I just wanted to let folks know that holding for pickup isn't hard once you find the closest facility(rather convenienient - they'll call you when ready for pick-up) and can be your best-bet in weather extremes.

Sorry for the length, but I really do love your company and want to see you keep up/improve quality for many years to come.

Pupfish,

Thank you for posting your delight in your recent Live Aquaria order. It gives us a great sense of accomplishment when we hear how happy our customers are with their new arrivals.

As you mentioned, many of our customers find picking up their orders at a local Federal Express pick up location to be a positive experience that works well for them.

We are always open to suggestions and comments regarding our packaging and appreciate your input. Shipping during extreme hot or cold weather times is a challenge for everyone. Each morning we check our nation’s weather maps for both that evening and the following day. From this weather information we determine whether to add none, one or two heat or ice packs in with our orders. We have a great success rate with this method and are happy to hear your new specimens are doing well.
