I am going to be setting up a larger tank soon and I am not sure where I should get my liverockn from,I am kind of weary about getting it online.the pictures usually look really good I just wonder what it will look like when it gets to your door.So I am looking for some feedback on where other people have got there liverock from good or bad,I am sure your feedback will help alot of other people along with me thanks alot,Lee

I usually get it from my lfs, its usually pretty expensive though so recently i have been looking on craigslist for local people getting rid of their tanks and buying their lr. With the mail order stuff you would need to re cook the lr to make sure any die off would be complete.

yea it goes for around 9-10 dollars a pound locally and it is not all that impressive,but atleast I would know what I am getting

I purchased my live rock from intmarinefish.com They sold it for three dollars a pound, and paid the shipping. I think they are in the northeast. They shipped in Southwest, and I picked it up at the airport. It has been in the tank for two months now, and is doing great. Good luck.

I recently got some Fiji live rock from Liveaquaria.com. It shipped quickly and arrived in decent condition. All in all I was very satisfied.

had great service and product from Premium Aquatics - they were careful to include the number and size of pieces I preferred for pounds ordered, and even tried to approximate shapes [so many flat, so many branching, etc.] couldn't be happier. not a whopping ton of life, but some good hitchhikers nonetheless. a good sized chiton of about 3.5" plus lots of coraline.

I second nicks idea. Its very easy to find LR on craigslist. I ended up getting about 60lbs for free out of a guys tank a week ago. You wont always get that lucky but its easy to find there. I look in pets, general, free, furniture, and household

Another option is to get a little lr and the rest base or dead rock from some place like macrorocks.com

Shroom - yes, I'd say probably right about 50% coverage. They looked great and cycled very quickly because they were already cured. That cut their cycle by half and it only took about 2 weeks.
