Hey all,
I feel that now is the time to temporarily get out the reef tank hobby. There are a number of factors that are contributing to this decision.
1) My newborn son is taking up a large portion of my time and energy
2) Tonight there was a burning plastic smell coming from my metal halide light fixture which scared me and my wife.
3) We are planning to move in the near future and were already debating whether to take down the tank or keep it and move with it.
4) This was my first reef tank, loved it, but always in the back of my mind wanted to start over with better equipment.
Since I turned off the lights and don’t plan on turning them back on ever again, the livestock has to go quickly. I’m not asking for much, but if you want to make a monetary donation for whatever extras you take, I promise that the funds will go back into the hobby once I move into a new home.
50 pounds live rock with some coralline $50
over 80 pounds dead rock $50
2†live sand
1 false percula clown
1 yellow hogfish $10
1 zebra hermit crab somewhere in there
gone- 1 cleaner shrimp
gone- 2 rbta $20
gone- 4 head frogspawn $10
gone- 3 head neon green hammer coral $10
gone- favia
gone- hairy tonga mushroom
gone- orange florida ricordia
gone- yuma
gone- blue mushrooms
gone- misc. zoos
gone- Green clove polyps
gone- candy cane
gone- kenya tree
gone- brown and orange cap (needs TLC)
gone- 1 firefish
gone- Almost full stick of cyclopeeze
90 gallon glass tank 4x2x2 (about 3 noticeable scratches)
black wood stand
HOB overflow w/sump
HOB protein skimmer Prizm
2 heaters
I would like someone to take all the equipment at once, after the livestock is gone. Obviously I would prefer someone to take a bunch of livestock at once as well.
Thanks again to many people on this forum and on craigslist. I got a majority of my equipment and livestock with really great prices from local reefers, and I hope my situation will help someone out there get what they want and give the livestock in my tank good homes.
I live in Sunnyvale close to the 101 and Lawrence intersection. Feel free to give me a call on my cell at 408-768-8411. I will keep updates on what has been taken and what is left.
