Livestock Guarantees

I was just reading through some of the sponser forums and came across the Drs. F&S forum. They make a good point about livestock guarantees. I knew they have guarantees along with a few other online retailers.

I've asked a couple LFS about it before but it's always "No Guarantee on Saltwater" Which really does suck. I'm sure most of us have brought home a fish and seen it wither away within a week.

The first store I see offer a guarantee will be my #1 stop. Not just because of the benefit, but because of their confidence in their livestock.

On the flip side I also see how some stores could have a hard time with this. But maybe it would encourage proper treatment of fish and quarantining new fish for a short period to make sure they're eating.

What does everyone else think.

I would have to agree,if a online store can offer a guarantee after shipping why not someone local who doesn't have the stress of shipping on the live stock.

oh i think you're right. You get a choice, 7 days or 15% off or something like that.

CPE - 20% discount on saltwater fish or a 2 week guarantee.

Next fish I buy will be from there. It's just hard to get there on a weekday, but I'll make sure I make it.

Depends what I'm getting. I think we've had 2 fish from there, a purple firefish that we took the 20% on (died a week later) and a yellow cardinalfish that lived for quite a while before carpet surfing.

problem with CPE guarantee is they need a water sample and the body

If a fish dies in my tank, I usually dont get him before the critters do Have yet to get a dead fish from the tank

Dr foster and Smith stands behind it also. I ordered some cleaners from them once and they and half arrived dead, and they credited my account immediately

Speaking of credits, I have credit for like 5 or 6 acro frags from Reefermadness. (Split amongst me, trottman, and jack)

They were no questions asked as well.

Where do you see acro frags? I just see 30??? I may be interested. Would be kindof fun. Kindof like a draft pick? 1,2,3,4,4,3,2,1 Pick? (or however many order)

We just had to speak to the owner and request all acros. It was no problem.

depends on what you're looking for

I would have them throw some LPS in there since I like LPS, but those guys split it up, so they wanted all acros so they'd each get 8 acros or so

if you hit the 30 all by yourself, then you might not choose 30 acros
