Living Straw

I can not get a good picture of this but as you can see on the far left, the straw like growth is white. The little bit that you can see there, is on the bottom of a rock that I turned over. The main body of the growth looks to be the color of detritus because I disturbed it and the detritus settled on it.

It basically grew from under a rock going sideways and out so some went up and some down. It didn't seem to dislike the light but didn't appear to seek it either.

I have been feeding rotifers, concentrated phytoplankton and powdered food including some Reef Bugs. I started this regiment about four months ago.

Does anyone have an idea what it is?

My last tank had a ton of that white creeping sponge. It get EVERYWHERE eventually. Best to keep it in check by pulling some of it out on occasion. I don't know if it is harmless, though it didn't seem to hurt anything. I figure if allowed to overgrow a coral it could be a problem.
