LMB's and clambs??

i know there is a thread already going on the subject of specific blennies and clams, but no one mentioned the LMB.

on friday i was in my LFS talking to one of the lower managers. he told me that LMB's should be fine with clams, i questioned him because i remember seeing some where that LMB's may nip at SPS and clams. ( can't find it now ) to make a long story short he was so cute ( not the manager the blenny ) i bought him. on monday i stopped in and talked to my usual guy at the LFS and he cautioned me that he wouldn't chance it.

i don't have any clams yet but my new 400w MH is ready to be fired up, so i will be getting some soon. ( or maybe not  )

i would like your hear your advice and experiences with these two.

If your LMB stands for Lawnmower blenny then I think it should be ok. We have a 5" Lawnmower Blenny in our 180 reef in the store with tons of clams and it has never touched it. The food is abundant and the blenny is happy; so are the clams. I don't know the story you heard is probably a starving LMB kept in a food scarce tank or just a very very bad one. LMB is almost strickly vegetarian, so I really can't imaging them nipping on the clams for any reason.

yes, by LMB i meant lawnmower blenny. i have been lookin around RK magazine and seen alot of people that have this combination. i will not have to worry about him being hungry as i tend to pamper my fish. i don't think he meant the LMB would eat the clam rather just nip at him as he does a piece of LR. maybe confusing the mantle as some kind of funky algae?? i feel better, worst come to worst my blenny can move downstairs to the sump.

i have a lmb and allmy lmb eats is algea, that is it, he ignores mysis, cylclopeeze, brine.... he does occasionally sit on the mantle of my derasa, but no harm seems to come from it.
