lobo skeleton

Just got a lobophyllia today. It was shipped in the mail. Can only see skeleton.... is this normal. I have had it in the tank for about 4 hours now.

best recom right now would be
for you to put it in a lower light/lower flow spot in the tank... then try using a turkey baster and feeding it directly (mysis etc)... its better to shut pumps off while doing this and if you have other inhabitants that keep steeling the food (shrimp/fish) then feed and cover it w/ a 'container' of some type could even be glass jar etc (just something to keep the food from either floating away or getting taken by something else)... if it doesnt eat then try it again tomorrow... if you can get it to eat then it should start looking better in no time (iow keep trying to feed it)... just be sure to keep it in this LF/LL location until it looks like its starting to 'thrive' (iow dont be in a hurry to move it to a better location until it looks more then ready)...

I had it in low light area back in a cave area and I also tried to tempt it with mysis and plankton. I only moved it out into the light for pic. It hasn't changed at all. I also just noticed that I was to inform the supplier within 4 hrs for arrive alive guarantee :0(
 
so the food stayed on top of the brain - and you didnt notice it trying to eat?

you might call them and email the pic just in case.

just bec its not eating now
doesnt mean it wont eat tomorrow... might just need to give it some time.

btw do you have other corals (how to they look) and how is your water quality?

Lobos stress alot in shipping. That can usally be there demise alone. I have found they are more likely to acclimate to cooler water like 75, rather than something warmer like 78. Where did you buy it?

I also got some amazing dendros. The heads are huge and they are in great shape.

It did not make it from the start. The colored part looked dried up right out of the bag. Today the colored part all flaked off. It is definately dead :0(

Ultimate frags is awesome though. Anybody who is looking for dendros should get them from there. They are amazing. The picture above is not my new dendros from there. I'll get a pic of the new ones and post.... the heads are huge. I am very happy with them.
 
keep it in the water for a few days make sure it's 100% dead i had a dendro die off once and it sprouted 5-6 babies out of the base. not sure have a lobo will sprout babies but ya never know.
