Pretty new to this hobby, but I was wondering if this has ever happened to anyone here...
Woke up this morning to find one of my Blue/Green Chromis upside down stuck to my Lobo getting eaten! His fins were still flapping away so I used a turkey baster and squirted some water to free him. When he came out, the entire top of his body looked like it was half dissolved and he wasn't swimming right so I took him out and put him out of his misery.
This is now the second time I lose a Chromi in about a week. A couple days ago I had another one go missing and later found just his head intact floating on the sand bottom. At the time I figured he had died of natural causes and that maybe one of my emerald crabs had done the damage but now I'm starting to think maybe the Lobo was responsible for that one too!
Are the Chromis known to sleep down by the sand and perhaps that's why they're getting caught?
Picture of the perpetrator (I unfortunately didn't get one of the Chromi in his mouth):
FTS so that you can see where he's at (bottom left corner):
