Loc Line sucking air

All of a sudden I have my loc line creating a zillion micro bubbles in the tank.

I know it is the line, as the other half of the return is bubble free. You can see them coming out of the nozzle.

Should I silicone the joints? And if I do that, must I leave the return pump off for awhile?

I had that a few years back with one of my Uniaquariums and I used some sort of grease to seal it. I do not remember the name but Marty from MS gave it to me. I am sure some on will chime in, silicone would make it so you could not move it. How is the CA reactor? good luck

I have used a tad bit of glue, a pice of tubing, and silicone, and now she is good to go. I am picking up a tank from crny1 this weekend, hopefully, and will have the reactor up and running in my sump by Sunday possibly.

Thanks again Phil.

So no more dosing the 2 part Howie?

You'll have to inform me on how you dosed the tank. I just bought up my 2 part.....parts. I'm going to be making it in a couple days.

I'm just so confused about how much to dose!

The dosing nightmare. lol Not too bad once you figure out how much the corals suck out and at what proportions.

Calcium Reactor...the end of the nightmare.

Howie...it is silicone grease you are looking for.

howie....wouldnt buying new locline be 1.5 x 10^5 times easier than siliconing all of the joints?

Leighton, it is new stuff, but I believe it does not like the bend I have in it. I bought at GWA from the illustrious Steve...

Silicone grease it is then... thanks Jack.

JX.. the dosing is not hard to figure out. I followed Randy's directions and it was easy:

1) What do you have currently in your tank? Is it softies? SPS? Or a mix? Heavily stocked coral-wise?

2) For heavily stocked with SPS, or heavy with a mix, I think it was 2ml of the Ca and the Alk supp. per gallon.

You can use the links in RHF's improved 2 part recipe in the chem forum to figure out how much to start with. Get a base and then dose for a couple of days or so then test again and adjust your dose if levels have fallen.

You should have your levels correct when you start though....

I would pull the locline apart to grease it but I like overkill...if the bubbles have stopped I wouldn't mess with it.
