Loc-line under gravel?

Ok this might be a really bad idea but I would like some opionons on it.

I am planning to set up a 24 Gal Aquapod in the near future. I want aditional flow. But I want it to come from the FRONT of the tank. I don't much like the look of Loc-line running throught the display. So I am thinking of putting a bulkhead in the false wall below the level of the gravel. then running loc line to the front of the tank and burying it under the substrate. just have the end pop up near the front and aim back at the live rock. This seems like a good idea to me. But I did just think of it a hour ago. Anyone have any thoughts on the idea.

I'll be useing crushed coral for a substrate, I think. I've already got a 50 lb bag that a friend gave me when he got too much for his tank. I am planning to put it 4-5" deep. I'm a DSB fan.

Why don't you use PVC pipes and just use the locline at the end after the substrate?

That's a good idea. I was thinking of having the return come through the false wall toward the right side of the tank and then angle out to the middle of the front. That would be difficult with PVC but maybe I could place the hole for the return more in the middle than my original idea. PVC might be cheaper for me. That's an idea I will have to look into some. Thanks :D
