Loc Line

Hay I was wondering how many of u use loc line? I just ordered a bunch of it to start building my tanks. I am ordering bags of fittings and the line in rolls so if anyone wanted some they can let me know I am also getting the pliers if anyone wanted to use them I am not sure how this will work but I am redoing the 240 for flow and using the 3/4 for it. I am not as detailed as some of you so I can not cad the drawings right now but if you all wanted to get together and we could use a brainstorming meeting for my monster tank? Some beers, Crown, food and a tape measure and some paper could be a fun time?

The salt creep comming from it is awfull is my only complaint. Love the flexibility of it though but you just can't touch it without catching hunks of salt creep if it has run awhile.

I use it and like it quite a bit. I route my return pump in 2 different directions using locline. If I'm around, I'd be happy to participate in the Monster Tank Planning Session :)

I have the same problem but if you keep it underwater you shouldnt have any issue.
Got most of mine from savko.com but i hear they got hacked and many people had charges on their credit cards because of it.

I looked at there site and unless they give a great discount they are more $$ then my link.

Not surprising... i really posted the site to give a heads-up on the hacked site issue.

modularhose does have great prices... I remember looking at them a couple of years ago, they weren't a sponsor at that time and for some reason i didn't use them, don't remember why.

That is good to know about the hacking I know I am not good at watching my charges on my CC close so that would be bad for me. I just don't want to remember how much I spend on my addiction.

I use 3/4" loc-line for my CL and returns and my only complaint, as mentioned, is the salt creep issue on my parts that hang out of the tank. The flexibility of design that they allow is unbeatable. It's easy to change a flow pattern if you move your tank around or get a new colony that needs more/less flow.

FWIW modularhose is the company that makes it, so they should be able to sell it for less than anyone else. As I recall, they don't have a minimum order, you just pay shipping (which is obviously nice to defray across a bigger purchase).

i would love to split my 3/4 return into two if possiblle

I branched mine with a locline "Y" fitting. Then I put a locline ball valve on one side to so as to be able to adjust the flow so that one side flowed less than the other.

FWIW;
I have used Loc-Line for years, and love it. Recent issued involved a supply pipe/Loc-Line fitting failure.
The (in tank recirc.) supply line (1" PVC) is on the bottom of the tank (under 4" of sand), when adjusting the loc-line position (after 3+ years of service), the adaptor broke, rather than the loc-line moving.
Have to give loc-line credit, it has lasted for years and my adaptor is the smallest available (1/2" MPT X 3/8" loc-line).
I thought replacing it was going to be a major hassle, but it was not the problem I thought it would be.
I turned off all the pumps, let the residual flow stop, scraped the sand off the top of the supply pipe, and used an easy out to remove the adaptor. I attached the discharge nozzle to the loc-line and (new) adaptor, put Teflon tape on the adaptor and threaded it in as far as the loc-line would let it go (before the loc-line) started spinning. Scraped sand back over the connection point, and no leaks were had.
Again, this situation was had with the smallest loc-line adaptor, and after several years of use. If that is the worst I can face, that is just fine by me.
Oh, and by the way, I too bought the connection wrenches for my loc-line, they are the ONLY WAY TO GO! Nothing works this easy for their connection (on or off).

wAYNE i WOULD LIKE TO GET A Y FROM YOU AND SOME LINE JUST A FOOT OR SO AND ONE NOZZLE TO SPLIT MINE PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT I WILL OWE YOU THANKS Sorry about the caps

I just stopped up at Savko an hour ago. It seemed pretty pricey for what it is, but I looked online and it was cheaper at Savko than elsewhere. *shrug* I wish I would have known about the hax0ring of their website--I would have asked them about it.
