Does anyone know of a local place (Boston or the North Shore) to buy acrylic?

home depot carries sheets of acrylic. there is also a place in woburn that makes signs that can get you any size, thickness, color, etc. but its not cheap. i forget the name but pm me and i can give you directions to it.

Here is one of the overflows with integrated Tunze Stream holder. The only thing I would change is the teeth. I did them on my router and they came out sloppy. Last time I sed my circular table saw but I thought the router would do a better job....wrong!

Hi Derek,

No, the Tunzes can't be swiveled, but the boxes were designed (hopefully ) with the optimum fixed pointing angle for the Tunzes to maximize flow in my tank. I basically drew up the boxes and the tank surrounding the boxes in an attempt to optimize the pump's pointing angle for optimim flow.

The boxes were designed using a cheap "autocad" type software package. The boxes are trapezoidal shaped with the sides pointed at fixed angles.

FYI: The WeldOn 16 works great for sealing bad joints. I used some on my new overflow boxes and now they actually hold water!

I'm a little confused, why do you want to take water going into your overflow - that should be going to sump/skimmer - and send it back into the tank?
And have you tested that?
That's not a lot of room for water in there

Hi Dave,

The boxes have two chambers: one that acts as a normal overflow with a 2" drain to the sump, the other holds the Tunze. The overflow chamber is sealed from the tank so that water only enters through the "fence" or "teeth" at the top. The pump chamber is not sealed.
