Hi guys, just wanna that our local lfs are great! have everything we need from supplies, fish and corals to tanks,etc,etc...just when to the bay thinking that there aquariums would be like the best thing i ever seen, but no :( was dissapointed,i when to 6 different places and only 1 was good ocean treasure,so anyone trying to find anything good there just go to ocean treasure skip other ones lol, specially the one that its half florist and half aquarium lol..
if anyone knows a good one none local please let me know,im gonna have some free time soon and i wanna check them out...

Sounds like your talking about San Fransisco area and not the "Bay Area"?

We have tons of very nice LFS here in the greater Bay Area. Do a search on RC for Atlantis and see how many posts come up about that local shop, on this international forum :)

Aquatic Gallery
Dolphin Pet Village
Atlantis Aquarium
Lucky Goldfish
New Alameda Aquatics (only open on the weekends)
Aquarium Concepts
Natural Life Aquarium
All About Fish
just to name a few :)

Your actually in a great area for reef stores and supplies.....some people out of the access to the people, resouces and LFS that you have would kill for.....some corals people have here can't be found on the East Coast......

I think your looking at the wrong places......but the key question, is what are you looking for?

I second Atlantis.....one of my favorites
most of the better ones have been on the East Bay.....SF is pretty poor, and 6th ave is an excellent example of that, but hadn't been to Ocean Treasures.

If this isn't good enough......I don't know what would be.....

And you have some great resources localy with all the new ones opening up.......what 4 in the last two years?.......Some people are lucky just to have a PetCo and an internet supplier......between all the local stores and the MARS club, I am willing to bet there is more to be found than you can afford.......or have the room for, at least thats the case for me.

consider yourself lucky my friend!!!

btw the half flora half fish store is one of the oldest, well known fish store in SF, u didn't go at the right time doesn't mean that store is a joke. their stuffs are hella cheap, I can't find any store around here is cheaper then them. they get good stuffs in once a while, but if they do, they will be gone in couple hours.
Their water quality is not top notch, that's why most coral or fish will not live long there, but if they did, u know they will live in your tank for whatever condition you have. I have bought fish and coral there, I always have good luck, so I am happy.
every sunday morning, they have "sunday morning baggy sale", all the baggy stuffs are hella cheap, I only been there to the sale once, it's like the day after thanksgiving, hella ppl, hella pack, and u have to fight for things that are good and cheap.

I been to sixth ave TONS of times and pretty much was didn't like the way the anenome were all bleached, selling things like the little jellyfish that nobody can seem to keep alive, customer service kinda sucked......but yeah wholeseller for sure.......the whole help yourself everyone sticking thier hands in the tanks kinda scares me......but yeah, my buddy always went there and liked it.......

Ever look at all those tanks on that second floor.......I am RUNNING out of that place during an earthquake.

In SF, I agree, Ocean Treasures is the hot spot :)
Gresh where is this located, maybe I can check em out on Saturday.

thanks

Yea, when we went to the second floor at 6th ave I nearly had a heart attack! As a facilities manager, that upper level was a nightmare... If you are not cool with tight spaces, I'd suggest avoiding the top floor :)
