I talked to a person at JoMars and was told that someone had started a rumour that they were closing. On top of that someone even contacted some of their vendors with this rumour. To me this is very poor taste and I would hope that if it was determined who did this that they would be banned from any and all local clubs. Why would anyone want a member that would do such a thing?
It is just a rumour, no truth to it. Just someone trying to cause them problems. Always a nice thing to do to a business in this day and time.

Well this is good news that it was just a rumor. JoMars has been around a long time and hopefully it will remain so. I cannot imagine many, if any, know who the vendors are to begin with.
It would seem to be in everyones best interest to consider this an unsubstantiated rumor and just move on.

True True Lowcel and could be considered Slander and held liable if they lost business and $ or goods or a vendor from it. Damages is any $ and to make someone not want to be their vendor they would lose $.

It's time we set the records straight on this matter as it is very confusing and may still be leading to problems for the new owner. First of all everyone needs to know this. I am no longer affiliated with Jo-Mar's or Specialty Pets and this is at my soul discretion. I intend to get away from this business for a while and relax. I am therefore bound by no obligations or loyalties to either party or affiliate(s) and may now speak freely. First, Jo-Mar's did not close and was not "œclosing" that was and still is a rumor that is going around and is allegedly still likely hurting the new business but it shouldn't for long. The truth of the matter is that, Jo-Mar's Petshop was absorbed by Specialty Pets LLC on April 23rd, around 4:40 PM to be exact, so it never closed and the transition happened while customers were still in the store. It seamlessly changed from Jo-Mar's to Specialty Pets. If you have not been in since Phil took over I suggest you make a point to do so, it is not Jo-Mar's anymore. He is making the place into something it has not been in a long time. He has put countless hours of hard work into the place and is continuing to do more. In the past 2 weeks he has received some of the largest saltwater fish shipments that the tanks have seen in nearly a year. Among other things, in those shipments he received some of the nicest looking large blue hippo tangs and emperor angels I have ever seen come through those doors and is still able to come close to the prices the shop was known for in it's days as an area leader. So lets review, Jo-Mar's Petshop has been" absorbed and dissolved" it never closed, went bankrupt, exploded or was lost in a bad hand of poker. The building is the same, the phone number is the same but the name, owner and staff has changed.

But in Ron's defense, there were some things that needed cleared up so as not to hurt the new store's business.

I don't think the new store will be hurt from anybody posting here since we know what's happened New LFS ownership and I think we all wish Phil the best. :beer:
That's what I think would help Phil more than anything. To make all the "deals" and "ownership" from those "companies" more transparent.

Beating of the dead horse is hilarious.
I am doing the best I know to do with the store. I know there is still tons of stuff to do and I think I am getting there as fast as I possibly can. I dont owe anyone anything except the bank. So the store and all the equipment in it are mine, project 66 was built by a few and should still be open to those who contributed to it. I want no trouble with anyone and hope people will stop in and take a look if they have time.

Went in the store today, and I must say the fish did all look nice, as far as them being the nicest emperor angels i've ever seen i would have to disagree, but really I was impressed to actually see most of the fish prices listed on the tanks. The hippos and there was also a really nice powder blue as well, didn't see any problems fish wise (this is all i really know/care about). The prices also seemed reasonable, so i have to say Phil keep up the good work, and also I would like to see some bigger fish in those empty big tanks in the future
